Dental crowns are artificial caps that look and feel like real teeth. They fit over the top of a tooth that is extensively decayed or damaged. Without a crown, your tooth could deteriorate, sustaining an infection or a serious chip or crack that compromises its health altogether. We also use crowns to protect a crown after root canal treatment and when making hand-made bridges for missing teeth.
When we create your restoration, everything we do is completely personalised. Your crown will cover the decayed or damaged tooth in question and provide the support and aesthetic restoration it needs to function well and look and feel great.
We use high-quality materials that will stand the test of time and enable you to chew and bite completely normally. The crown is colour-matched to your existing tooth shade, and our talented dental technician will contour and shape it to look right at home as part of your smile.
As a dental practice that value having a patient-centric approach, we feel it’s important to offer our patients a two-year warranty on their restoration. This includes our bespoke crowns. We are proud to be one of the only dental practices in the Swansea area offering this warranty on its dental crowns.
Principal Dentist of Mumbles Dental House Dr Ali is passionate about and experienced in restorative dentistry – it’s one of the things he does best. He considers the creation of restorations like crowns to be a craft and has a keen eye for detail. He recently completed a Master’s in Prosthodontics and has performed countless crown design cases and placements.
