Believe it or not, as a young boy and teen, our very own Principal Dentist, Dr Ali Abdelibagi was a nervous patient himself. This deep-set fear of the dentist led him to become motivated to pursue helping people like himself transform their dental phobia into confidence during his career as a dentist.
Dr Ali created a graduate thesis researching the effects of dental anxiety on patients. Since completing this, he has undergone training, teaching him how to address different types and origins of dental phobia and how best to help patients tackle these.
His calm and friendly chairside manner (and sense of fun and humour) is always popular with patients, helping them to relax right away.
Dr Ali was shortlisted for the ‘Best Young Dentist’ award and taught fellow dentists across Wales.
No one wants to have treatment in a room that feels overly clinical and cold in its ambience. That’s why our treatment rooms are furnished with an upholstered dental chair, with no invasive overhead light or sink nearby. Expect to feel like you’re reclining on a comfortable sofa rather than in a conventional dentist’s chair.
